Enrollment Overview

Burleson ISD student enrollment takes place online through Skyward.

New Student Enrollment

New student enrollment is for students who are NEW to Burleson ISD and were not enrolled in a BISD school on the last day of the prior school year.

If you are enrolling a Pre-K student, scroll down to visit the BELOW PRE-KINDERGARTEN ENROLLMENT page (you must qualify for Pre-K). 

If you are enrolling a Kindergarten student, scroll down to visit the BELOW KINDERGARTEN ENROLLMENT page. 

If you are enrolling grades 1-12, scroll down to under "New Student Online Enrollment;" then follow Steps 1-3. 

Student Transfers

Live outside of the BISD attendance zone? BISD is accepting student transfer requests (in-district and out-of-district) for a select number of seats for the upcoming school year. Students who meet specific criteria for academic performance, attendance, and behavior standards may be eligible. Transfers are limited by the capacity available.* Visit STUDENT TRANSFERS to learn more and apply. 

*BISD operates within the guidelines set by the Texas Education Agency, where funding for enrolled students residing outside of the district follows the student. In addition to the requirements above, transfer students must adhere to University Interscholastic League (UIL) eligibility requirements. 

Returning Student Online Annual Registration

Returning Student Registration for the 2025-2026 school year will open in July 2025 through SKYWARD FAMILY ACCESS. Current families will be notified when registration officially opens.

If you are enrolling a new BISD student who has a sibling currently attending a BISD school, follow the steps below within NEW Student Enrollment to enroll your NEW BISD student. Please note: Parents will need the required documents noted in step 2 for enrollment of the new student.
