BISD Names Jessica Langston Principal of Norwood Environmental Science Academy

Burleson Independent School District (BISD) announces Jessica Langston as principal of Norwood Environmental Science Academy. Langston brings 17 years of elementary education experience to her new role, with expertise in instructional leadership, campus administration, and a collaborative approach to supporting students, staff, and families.

Most recently serving as assistant principal at the Academy of Leadership and Technology at Mound, Langston has built her career around advancing student achievement, strengthening instruction, and building positive school communities. Prior to campus administration, she served as a data analyst and campus data leader, leading professional learning communities and helping teachers use student performance data to strengthen instruction. Langston’s experience has shaped a balanced leadership style grounded in strong relationships, high expectations, data-informed decisions, and meaningful family and community partnerships. She holds a Bachelor of Science from Texas Christian University and a Master of Education from Lamar University.

“Jessica Langston is an exceptional leader with a depth of experience in elementary education and a strong academic track record," said BISD Superintendent Dr. Bret Jimerson. "Jessica is impressive, even-keeled, and personable, and I am confident she is the right person to lead Norwood in its next chapter.”

“I’m truly honored to step into this role and continue serving this amazing community,” said Langston. “I’m excited to partner with our staff and families, support our teachers, and celebrate the strong work already happening across our campus. Together, we’ll continue creating an environment where every student feels known, challenged, and supported.”

A meet-and-greet event for parents, students, and staff will be held at Norwood Environmental Science Academy on Thursday, June 11, from 4:30-6:00 p.m.
